Dr. Moe Hakim

Dr. Hakim is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMS). He graduated from NYU college of dentistry in the top 5% of his class and was inducted in the OKU Honors Society.

Following his OMS residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, he finished a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive maxillofacial surgery and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthroscopy at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

He’s currently a clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan and his clinical areas of focus include TMJ arthroscopy, pediatric TMJ disease, orthognathic surgery as well as endoscopic procedures.

His research interests and publications have been focused on understanding synovial membrane disease and outcomes of advanced arthroscopic techniques in the temporomandibular joint. Dr. Hakim has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of temporomandibular joint arthroscopy and endoscopic maxillofacial surgery.

In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, play soccer and guitar, and do workout classes with his wife.
